What does an effective Security Manager do?

A security Manager

  • Takes a pro-active role in the company.
  • Is conversant with and involved in all aspects of the company's operation.
  • Prevents management wasting time on all security related issues.
  • Prevents the company incurring "losses or shrinkage".

This is achieved through implementation of effective deterrent security measures combined with fraud prevention, both of which are regularly updated and reviewed.

A Security Manager understands commercial concepts such as, profit & loss, research and development, drivers nights out, historic budgeting, procurement issues, human resources requirements as well as having a wealth of crime prevention knowledge.

What if the Security Manager is part time?

The same assessment and selection procedure is carried out. Once a decision relating to the time commitment has been made, the client gets the same benefits as of those of a full time security manager.

This is why:
" The time allocated is known only to the client and Amerex Security.
" The hours involved with the client are variable according to the needs and emergencies.
" The client has the same access to 24 hour 365 day assistance and deputy cover.

In the event of additional time or personnel being used, this is provided strictly on a pro-rata charge basis. All aspects of the service are the same as the full time service.

How does the client get the right Security Manager?

Profiling the right type of individual for specific companies has proved vital in providing this service. Companies have often perceived that a certain level of rank from a police or military role is essential for their image. That may or may not be correct, but it is imperative to establish the credential of an individual to perform a task within a commercial environment and, to be able to relate to others, both within the company and outside.

There are many environments where a female security manager would be invaluable and, many where they would not be suitable. Considerations such as language, specialist skills, experience in similar industries are all made when selecting the candidate.
